Following his hat-trick against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night, Erling Haaland has now broken two Premier League records just five games into his Manchester City career.
The Premier League is without a doubt one of the toughest leagues on the planet, and while many top players have failed completely in the past, others have needed time to improve their game to the levels needed to succeed.
It appeared that Haaland would be categorized as one of those who require time to acclimate to the English game after making his official debut in City's FA Community Shield loss to Liverpool.
But after five games with the Citizens in the league, the Norwegian has firmly put those rumors to rest.
Following his heroics against Crystal Palace the previous weekend, Haaland was able to score three goals on Wednesday night for the second time in as many games. The 22-year-old scored his hat-trick in the first half as City went on to demolish Forest 6-0.
The former Molde player also set a new competition record by needing five games to score two hat-tricks in the league.
Demba Ba of Senegal and Fernando Torres of Spain each needed 21 games and 23 games, respectively, to accomplish this record; Haaland did so in a much shorter amount of time.
The Scandinavian is now in first place among league goal scorers, four goals ahead of Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic in second.
