Is life not like a banana
That once plucked ages fast?
The green of youth and smooth skin are
Symbolic of a child’s ignorance
It grows and ripens with experience
Until the green is no longer there
It changes its flavor and it scent
As its purpose becomes very clear.
It is most beautiful in its prime
Its skin, though aged, still carries no flaws
Desire from others fills it with pride
And vanity has infected all its thoughts.
But such a time of glory is short.
The spots of life will taint its skin.
The world is not as it once was.

with rhyming words i am one who does love to play
An addiction for me too hard to give away
Forty four years ago when in my life's prime
In the Autumn of seventy three i penned my first rhyme
Though my worth as a rhymer i feel reason to doubt So many things for me for to write rhymes about
On life and on Nature things to write of each day
Though very few writers for their written words receive pay
Quite easy to learn and memorize and recite
Rhyme is a thing that is easy to write
Not a hard thing to do you can have it from me
As i have penned many since nineteen seventy three
Those who tell you that rhymers are many and poets are few
Are not telling you anything that is new Though some can see as much beauty in a weed as in a rose
We all look at things differently one does have to suppose
I never refer to myself as a poet
Nor am i one worthy of literary note
I am just one of those who enjoys penning rhyme
Something i have been doing for quite a long time.
A banana peel
Lay innocuously
On the floor beside her
She raised herself
From her easy chair
And lo and behold
She slipped on the peel
And went sliding right
Across the floor
There was no stopping her
All her 100 kgs went
Along with her
Some expressed concern
About the state of the floor
But no one worried about her
A few hours later
She was back her leg in a cast
With a killing look in her eyes
Little Johnny innocently
Remarked that she just needed
To follow her own rules
Had she just looked
Where she was going
Things would have been different 0242835352
The world is full of wonder and surprise,
With beauty found in each new sunrise.
The clouds that swirl, the stars that shine,
The laughter of children, the love divine.
The mountains rise, the oceans crash,
Nature's artistry, a never-ending stash.
From the depths of the sea to the heights of the sky,
The world is a canvas, and we pass by.
We are but mere mortals, here for a while,
To love, to laugh, to live with a smile.
So let us cherish each moment that's ours,
And make the most of our brief hours.
This world is a treasure, let's treat it with care,
And keep its wonders, for future to share.

Across the sea adventure lies. Hidden under beautiful skies. What is seen is usually lies. Look deep down under the piles. I know myself, what I am underneath. But you only see that which I allow. And that is all to you I bequeath. I would go down if I were you and bow. I'm not trying to deceive, you made me this way. I know you won't like what's beneath the skin and hay. But Nature made me wonderfully and beautifully. So I take off the skin I put on pretentiously. To reveal the beauty of me gloriously. Because I closed my eyes and I saw. Other stars shining in spite of the sun. The wind making trees sing and dance, disregarding law. The seas making waves just for fun. Nature being beautiful with all the flaw. That's why I pull off this skin. To be one with nature for I am their Kin. (LAWRENCE 0554822204)
