Sharaf Mahama is the son of the former president of Ghana and current flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama.Sharaf is a football lover who briefly had a professional playing contract from Belgian top-flight side KV Mechelen back in 2016.

Sharaf first publically displayed his football skills when he featured in ex Ghana captain Stephen Appiah’s testimonial match held back in June 2015.
